Proud moment celebrating success and welcoming new talent at GBS....

Exciting News from GBS!
We’re thrilled to celebrate the achievements of our apprentice Lauren, who recently won the "Extra Mile Nominee" award for her Fabrication & Welding Apprenticeship at West Notts College! Lauren joined us in 2022 and has shown fantastic commitment to her Level 3 Fabricator course — attending college one day a week and gaining hands-on experience with us here at GBS. She has just 6 months left in her apprenticeship, after which she’ll continue as part of the GBS Team, further developing her engineering skills.

We are all so proud of Lauren and her achievement and are excited for her future. She has become a valuable part of our team and a great role model for others pursuing careers in motorsport and engineering.

We’re also pleased to announce that Dexter will be joining us this September as our newest apprentice! Dexter recently completed a T-Level in Engineering Manufacturing at Lincoln UTC, during which he also gained work experience at GBS. He will now be continuing his studies at the University of Sheffield AMRC, working towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering — and joining us on-site to continue gaining practical skills in real-world of engineering and manufacturing.

Apprenticeships are a key part of the future and what we do at GBS, and we're proud to help develop the next generation of engineers and motorsport talent. With around 80% of the GBS Zero designed and manufactured in-house — including our ATR Suspension, Throttle Bodies, and more — there's no better place to learn and grow within the automotive and motorsport world.

Many of you will have already met Lauren and Dexter at our Cars & Coffee and Friday Night at the Factory events, and you’ll be able to catch up with them again soon at our GBS Track Day (12th July) and our next GBS Friday Night at the Factory event (18th July).

Please join us in congratulating Lauren and welcoming Dexter to the GBS team!

Our Apprentice is doing well….

Congratulations again to our Apprentice Thomas Slaney who is doing well at College and recently received some more certificates for EAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering (CNC Machining) and Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Engineering Manufacture (Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering).

Thomas has been with us for nearly 4 years now, since starting in 2016 Thomas has been based working on our CNC machinery alongside our machinists and designer.

We are all very proud of him and is a very valued member of our team and we are lucky to have such a great apprentice. Thomas is studying at Rotherham College where he attends for 1 day a week.

We would also like to thank Edgecam and Engineering Technology Group (ETG) for their continued support and allowing Thomas to attend their training courses.
